Identical twin brothers Andrew and Brian Chaplin formed Locnville, an Electronic new age group, in 2009 and became an overnight success.
They achieved No.1 Platinum Status success with their debut album Sun In My Pocket, winning SAMA Awards for Best Newcomer and Biggest Selling Album 2010. Their second album, Running To Midnight, of which some of the songs were produced in the US was released in July this year, topping the charts at no. 1 on radio stations nationwide.
Jax Panik
Jax Panik is a producer-led music project from Cape Town, founded by Jacobus van Heerden and Johnny de Ridder.
It started as a parody on the traditional pop and rock bands that dominate the South African music scene. Jax Panik’s first album, Cigarettes & Cinnamon, produced a string of radio hits, as well as an MTV Africa Viewer’s Choice Award nomination. The over the top pop of their second album, I am Jax Panik, also earned them a SAMA Award.
