Musicians Francois van Coke, Wynand Myburgh, Hunter Kennedy and Pierre Greeff grew up in Bellville and played in many bands over the years, of which Fokofpolisiekar is the best known. When Fokofpolisiekar took a break in 2007, the Afrikaans rock bands Van Coke Cartel and Die Heuwels Fantasties were formed. Both groups have since won several music awards.

Jack Parow
Jack Parow is an Afrikaans rapper, from Belville.
His debut self titled album was released in 2010 and debut single, Cooler as ekke, has become his most recognizable song with over 1 million views on YouTube. His songs are hits on national radio stations and he has been on prime TV shows and on covers and centre-folds of publications in South Africa and in Europe.

Our line-up of Afrikaans musicians from Bellville will be joined by JR from Joburg, one of South Africa’s rising stars of Hip Hop.
JR’s debut album, The Main Event, was released in April 2008. His second album, ColourFull, was released in 2009 and featured the major hit, Show dem, featuring HHP (Jabba).
