Launch of King Pie Paledi Mall
Mrs Sakhile Naanyane has successfully managed her own business, Kelebogile Catering CC over the past 12 years, providing catering services to government and private companies in Limpopo. As the business grew, Mrs Naanyane moved from operating from her house to renting retail space in town where she opened a “pap and vleis” outlet, also catering for bigger government contracts.
The Limpopo government was placed under administration in 2012 which unfortunately had a negative effect on numerous small businesses that were suppliers of provincial government. As a result, Mrs Naanyane had to close her retail shop in 2013 having lost all of her regular contracts with government. As a true entrepreneur, having had to close down one business simply meant that she had to open something else and Mrs Naanyane purchased, with a loan and support from the Masisziane Fund, a King Pie franchise in Paledi Mall, Makweng.
Mrs Naanyane’s King Pie franchise shop was officially opened on Thursday 30 October 2014 and all indications are that this business will do well. Mrs Naanyane is thankful that she was given a second chance and this time not to be dependent on government tenders and contracts. She employs 3 staff.
