Pack your picnic, round up the family and get ready for a big day out in the beautiful Durban Botanic Gardens when the universally popular Johnny Clegg returns for a not to be missed sensational show on Sunday, 14 July as part of the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series.
Having sold over five million albums worldwide it’s not difficult to see why Durban music fans are clamouring to see this international superstar. He has wowed vast audiences with his audacious live shows and won a number of national and international awards for his music, including the Presidential Ikhamanga award in 2012. He recently performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Kirstenbosch in Cape Town and the Katara Amphitheatre in Qatar. And now, he’s back at the gardens to perform some crowd favourites such as Impi and Scatterlings of Africa.
Commented Bandile Mngoma, Old Mutual Sponsorships Manager, “We are very privileged to be able to offer the Durban public this incredible talent for the second successive year. Johnny Clegg is a cultural icon that the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series is richer for hosting.”
2013 has already seen the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series bring world class acts like The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Mafikizolo, Asleep in Transit and Khaya Mthethwa which have revolutionised the outdoor music scene in Durban. As the series reaches the half way mark, the upcoming concerts promise to continue bringing you premium entertainment.
