2017 Comrades Marathon Entries Update

As entries for the 2017 Comrades Marathon continue to get processed, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has announced the entry breakdown for next year’s race.

The entry process officially closed three days ago, due to the cap of 20,000 being reached a day earlier than planned. CMA Race Director, Rowyn James confirmed that runners from over 70 countries have entered the 92nd Comrades Marathon.

South African entries make up 91% of the total entry tally while international entries make up 7% and rest of Africa entries add up to 2%.

The entry breakdown for the top 20 countries is as follows:

The 2017 Comrades Marathon will be the 47th up-run starting outside the Durban City Hall at 05h30 and finishing 12 hours later at the Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.
