Mont Aux Sources 2017 and the Grand Slam Challenge
Dear Wild Series Trail Runners,
2016 has been a great year for the Old Mutual Wild Series with record entries into Mont Aux Sources and Golden Gate that both included a large percentage of novices. It also saw the introduction of the Grand Slam, a challenge that involved running all of the Old Mutual Wild Series trail events in one calendar year. We can proudly say that 11 people started and finished this enormous challenge.
With 2017 just on the horizon, and Three Cranes Challenge entries coming in fast, it is time to put out the call to those interested in taking on the Grand Slam 2017. Our offer to those who take it on is 50% off your Mont Aux Sources Challenge entry fee, with full fees being paid for at Three Cranes and Golden Gate. The Kruger2Canyon Challenge is no longer part of the Wild Series and therefore does not feature as part of the Grand Slam. As your reward for completing all three events in the Grand Slam, we will frame your race numbers alongside a certificate for you to hang proudly on your wall.
Mont-Aux-Source Challenge entries open at 10am on 15 December 2016 on a first come first serve basis. The popularity of this race has grown enormously, driven by setting aside the outdated waiting list and making space for new blood and many novices. With the interest we are already receiving we have no doubt that the race will sell out again as it did in 2016.
Have a great festive season, if you are doing the Three Cranes Challenge make sure you balance your end of year celebrations with some good training sessions.
We are looking forward to a huge 2017 with you.
See you on the trails.
Andrew Booth and the Old Mutual Wild Series Team.
