Michael Fridjhon shortlisted for International Writing Award
Michael Fridjhon, Chairman of the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show since inception and South Africa’s best known wine critic, has been shortlisted for the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Award, the most prestigious wine writing prize in the English-speaking world. This is the fourth successive year that his name has appeared on the shortlist, and the second in which he has been nominated in two different categories.
Winner of the International Wine Columnist of the Year award in 2012, Fridjhon has been shortlisted for the same prize this year for his columns in Business Day, as well as for the Ramos Pinto Online Communicator of the Year Award for articles which have appeared on Daily Maverick and on his Wine Wizard site. Believed to be the longest serving wine columnist writing in the English language, Fridjhon has written for Business Day since the launch of the publication, having previously been the wine writer for the Rand Daily Mail and the Financial Mail
